For Teachers

The broad range of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA exhibitions presents an opportunity to connect many students with their heritage and identity, and to strengthen the relationship between schools and museums. For these reasons, Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA Teacher Resource Guides were created to help teachers connect the themes of the Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA exhibitions to class curricula.

The guides can be used individually or as a set. Each guide starts with a theme that is then explored through several artworks from a number of different Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA exhibitions, providing a model for how to teach from works of art and how these lessons can then be incorporated into the curriculum. The guides were developed to follow Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy in History/Social Studies and California Content Standards for Visual Arts and History/ Social Science, while also being adaptable to meet the unique needs of a wide range of students.
